Our Inheritance (Part 1)
Salvation
Ephs. 1:15-23Â Â Â Â Col. 1:9-12
For this reason I too, having heard of the faith in the Lord Jesus which exists among you and your love for all the saints, do not cease giving thanks for you, while making mention of you in my prayers; that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you a spirit of wisdom and of revelation in the knowledge of Him. I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened, so that you will know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints, and what is the surpassing greatness of His power toward us who believe. (Ephs. 1:15-23)
Inherit: | To receive money, property, title as an heir at the death of the previous holder. to come into possession of belongings of someone else |
Heir: | a person legally entitled to the property or rank of another person upon that person’s death |
For this reason also, since the day we heard of it, we have not ceased to pray for you and to ask that you may be filled with the knowledge of His will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding, so that you will walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, to please Him in all respects, bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God; strengthened with all power, according to His glorious might, for the attaining of all steadfastness and patience; joyously giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified us to share in the inheritance of the saints in Light. Col. 1:9-12Â
This scripture tells us that the Father has already qualified us to share in the inheritance of the saints. How has He done this? He sent His son, Yeshua who obtained for us all we need  through His death, burial and resurrection. (John 3:16)
Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Yeshua our Lord, seeing that His divine power has granted to us everythingpertaining to life and godliness, through the true knowledge of Him who called us by His own glory and excellence.
(2 Peter 1:2-3 )Â
What is in this inheritance He has granted to us?
The heart of our inheritance and the most important is salvation.
Yeshua suffered that we might have life and life more abundantly. ( John 10:10)
He took our sin and death and gave us His Righteousness and Life.
Because of Adam’s high treason, satan became the god of this world. We inherited through Adam’s line the sin nature. Adam was created in the image of God but after the fall we see in Genesis 5:3..When Adam had lived one hundred and thirty years, he became the father of a son in his own likeness, according to his image, and named him Seth.
After the fall, man was no longer born in the image of God; now he is born in the image of Adam. We are born into this earth as Adam’s heir and we inherit sin and death.
Thank God for the second Adam, Yeshua!! We are born with Adam’s fallen nature that is called the sin nature or the flesh and we will serve satan all our days and be condemned with him unless we take the way of escape. Yeshua has transferred us from satan’s domain – from the kingdom of darkness into His Kingdom of Light by His sacrifice and suffering on the cross. .
For He rescued us from the domain of darkness, and transferred us to the kingdom of His beloved Son, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins. (Col. 1:13 – 14 )
Yeshua said  “I am The way, the Truth and the Life and no one comes unto the Father except through Me.” ( John 14:6)
Yeshua, the true Passover Lamb, was slain from the foundation of the world for us. ( Rev. 13:8) Â
How do we get transferred from the kingdom of darkness into His Kingdom of Light? Â
Yeshua answered and said unto him “Truly, truly I say unto you unless one is born again he
cannot see the Kingdom of God…That which is born of the flesh is flesh and that which
is spirt is spirt. ( John 3:3,6)
What must we do?
If you confess with your mouth Yeshua is your Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved; for with the heart a person believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation. (Romans 10 : 9-10)
In this passage we are not confessing our sins but we are confessing the Lordship of Yeshua. The sinner has served satan. He is guilty of only one sin…that of rejecting Yeshua as savior and Lord. God demands that we confess the Lordship of Yeshua. The only way to escape satan’s lordship and domain is by confessing Yeshua as Lord of our lives. We choose to change Masters and Kingdoms and by the power of the Holy Spirit are born again. Â
Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creature; the old things passed away; behold, new things have come. (2 Cor. 5:17)
We are born again with a new nature, a new heart (John 3:3, Jer. 31:31 ). The old nature is no longer to dominate us but we are to let our re-born spirit man have dominance over the flesh.
But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not carry out the desire of the flesh. For the flesh sets its desire against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; for these are in opposition to one another, so that you may not do the things that you please. But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the Law. Now the deeds of the flesh are evident, which are: immorality, impurity, sensuality, idolatry, sorcery, enmities, strife, jealousy, outbursts of anger, disputes, dissensions, factions, envying, drunkenness, carousing, and things like these, of which I forewarn you, just as I have forewarned you, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom OF God. But the fruit of the spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law.Now those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. Gal. 5:16-23
The fruit of the spirit in this scripture is the fruit that the born again human spirit which grows as we, the branches, abide in the vine, Yeshua.
I am the true vine, and My Father is the vinedresser. “Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit, He takes away; and every branch that bears fruit, He prunes it so that it may bear more fruit. “You are already clean because of the word which I have spoken to you. “Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself unless it abides in the vine, so neither can you unless you abide in Me. “I am the vine, you are the branches; he who abides in Me and I in him, he bears much fruit, for apart from Me you can do nothing. (John 15:1-5)
Yeshua does not want to be just a “get out of hell free” ticket. It is one thing to confess Him as savior and another to confess Him as our Lord. That means He is our master and is to have the Lordship ( control) over our lives. He has a say in what we do and don’t do and what we wear or watch or what video games we play or what movies we watch.
Yeshua’s instructions for living according to the rules of His Kingdom are in Scripture and we are to renew our minds with the Word of God and change our ways.
..in reference to your former manner of life, you lay aside the old self, which is being corrupted in accordance with the lusts of deceit, and that you be renewed in the spirit of your mind, and put on the new self, which in the likeness of God has been created in righteousness and holiness of the truth. (Eph. 4:22 – 24)
The first law of His Kingdom is Love... Yeshua said "A new Commandment I give to you; love one another, even as I have loved you, that you also love one another. By this all men will know you are mine if you have love, one for another. (John 13:34-35)
Therefore, be imitators of God as beloved children and walk in love just as Christ also loved you, and gave Himself up for us an offering and a sacrifice to God as a fragrant aroma.( Ephs. 5:2)
Let us enter into the inheritance of God's Kingdom by rejecting the kingdom of darkness and declaring Yeshua as our Lord, Savior and King, and receive the forgiveness, salvation and new life that He obtained for us by His death, burial and resurrection. Â Then let us renew our mind with the Word of God and be submitted to our King's law of Love.
Yeshua answered “ Shema…Hear O Israel, The Lord our God is one Lord. And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul and all your mind and with all your strength. The second is this, You shall love your neighbor as yourself. There is no other commandment greater than these.” The scribe said to Him “Right ,Teacher, you have truly stated that He is one, and there is no one else beside Him. And to love Him with all the heart, and with all the understanding, and with all the strength and to love one’s neighbor as one’s as himself, is much more than all burnt offerings and sacrifices.” (Mark 12:29-33)
“Shema “ means to hear, understand and DO! …
